    Industry

    pexels-photo-258163

The industry sector has a legal obligation to protect workers from noise. The law also requires that the processes taking place in the hall do not cause excessive levels of noise in the environment. We have many years of experience in reducing noise at workplaces and in the environment for the industrial sector. We do this by designing and selecting appropriate acoustic solutions. In the design process, we use computer simulations with a calibrated acoustic model representing the industrial hall under study. We present the client with multi-variant paths of activities aimed at reducing noise throughout the hall, in its selected areas or in the environment.

KFB Acoustics specializes in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) methods for the vibroacoustic optimization of vehicles. This optimization consists not only in reducing the noise generated by the vehicle to the environment and to the passenger cabin. Psychoacoustic aspects of this issue are also taken into account in order to provide the driver with the best possible driving conditions.

    Power Plants

Power plants generate high levels of noise when operating in the environment. The most significant sources of noise in a power plant are the ventilation of the power aggregate’s engine. It is very important to properly select appropriate acoustic solutions for power plants, which allows to reduce noise levels to permissible values.

Noise and vibration in ships cover two basic topics: generation and transmission of noise between cabins and noise radiation to the aquatic environment. The main sources of noise inside a ship are engines. In turn, the main source of underwater noise is propeller cavitation.

Traffic noise is caused by the movement of vehicles and has a negative impact on the environment. We offer accredited measurements of traffic and rail noise. In addition, we conduct acoustic simulations that allow us to predict the impact of changes in traffic intensity on sound levels in the environment.

Our acoustic solutions effectively reduce noise at work stations in oil refineries and the noise generated to the environment by refineries. We fight the main sources of noise related to oil and gas operations: compressors, drilling and fracturing, flaring and venting.

In the defense industry, the vibroacoustic quality of products manufactured there is very important. Products that generate as little noise as possible are desirable, for example in combat vehicles. To solve this problem, advanced vibroacoustic simulations and multi-variant experiments on prototypes are carried out.

For households located near airports, the most onerous source of noise in the environment are airplanes. Excessive number of passes causes the permissible noise levels to be exceeded. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly control the areas exposed to aviation noise in this respect. Another issue is the acoustic comfort of the plane passengers themselves, which requires appropriate design of the plane in terms of vibroacoustics.

Work on construction sites begins and ends on predetermined dates. During this time, very high levels of noise may be temporarily generated into the environment, disturbing the peace of nearby homes. Fighting such noise is very difficult as it requires knowledge or very quick identification of all the processes that occur during construction.

Appropriate acoustic conditions in the building provide comfort to the people staying in it. This applies to both residential and office buildings. Acoustic insulation and the reverberation time of rooms are the key parameters that we use when designing and measuring interior acoustics. Sound in buildings can be transmitted over long distances to distant rooms due to flanking transmission (structure-borne noise). We use vibroacoustic simulations to predict the importance of these transmission paths and to propose methods for solving vibroacoustic problems in buildings.

KFB Acoustics has experience in determining the noise radiated by high power wind turbines to the environment. We conduct analyzes both in the field of audible sounds and in the infrasound range. We have been examining the impact of wind turbine operating parameters and environmental conditions on the sound levels generated by turbines.
