New publication in the field of flow dynamics

22 Nov 2021

Our colleagues from the Research and Development Department, Bartosz Chmielewski, Iván Herrero-Durá and Paweł Nieradka, have recently published our latest research in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

The article, published in the international journal Applied Sciences, includes a comparative study between the results obtained by three different methodologies: Standards (ISO and VDI), numerical simulation with the Finite Element Method (FEM) and experimental measurements, carried out in our facilities.

This publication shows the limitations of the standards regarding to the prediction of pressure loss when splitter silencers are embedded into ducts, and how numerical simulations can improve these predictions. The pressure loss is one of the most common parameters to characterize the performance this type of silencers, so a proper prediction of this factor allows us to improve the design of the products.
