International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering

10 Aug 2021

Between 1 and 5 August, the 50th International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering (Internoise 2021) took place. Even though it was initially planned be hosted in Washington DC (USA), the event was held in an online format due to the pandemic situation.

The conference included 7 plenary lectures given by some of the most relevant experts in different fields of Acoustics, and over 585 presentations structured in more than 120 technical sessions. Many interesting discussions on how noise affects our health and society and the newest research in different methods and technologies were presented by attendees from all over the world. This was also a special event, as it also included the celebration of the 50th Internoise conference (the first Internoise was celebrated in Washington DC in 1972).

KFB Acoustics had presence in the event by presenting the results from our latest research in the field of Aeroacoustics. Our colleague Iván Herrero-Durá talked about the application of numerical simulations to determine the flow-induced noise by baffle-type silencers, a work that was performed together with Bartosz Chmielewski and Paweł Nieradka, also from KFB.
